Restaurant Dining Secrets™
What Healthy Diners Need to Know |
|
Ask yourself the following questions as you're
walking to your table:
-
Did I notice a meal while walking to my table that I'd like
to order?
(It's exciting to have a preview).
-
Do I want to follow my eating plan during this meal?
(Become conscious of your intent).
-
What type of food am I in the mood to eat?
(You'll eat less when you eat what satisfies you).
-
How hungry am I?
(Distinguish between your physical and emotional hunger).
-
What have I already eaten today?
(You'll probably want the opposite of what you've already had).
Ask yourself the following questions while reading
the menu:
-
Is there anything in particular I want to eat that's not on
the menu? (Make a mental note of available ingredients as you
read the menu so you can modify dishes as you order).
-
Are there tradeoffs I am willing to make? (You could order
a couple of side dishes in place of an entrée. Be creative.
If you're not too hungry consider an appetizer and a dessert).
-
Am I willing to order my salad dressing and sauces on the side?
(You'll be in charge that way of how much or little you use).
